Ceremony celebrating Malibu's first regular bus service, August 1947. The bus service was operated by Shoreline Transit Company. l.-r: actor Leo Carillo, Acting 'Mayor' Schafer, Warner Baxter. Warner Baxter, a Hollywood actor who became involved with Malibu long before it became a city, had for many years been considered "Malibu's honorary Mayor." He won an Oscar for his role in the 1928 film "The Cisco Kid," in which Carillo co-starred. |
