Description |
The foot of Malibu Pier, 1948. The tower at center was built at the time the Adamson House was built, and was originally conceived as a private bedroom or study space for Merritt Adamson Jr, although it seems he did not use it much as he was growing up. Just in front of the tower is a building that in the 1970-90s would House Alice's Restaurant, named after the Woody Guthry song title. The real Alice's Restaurant was in Stockbridge MA. Across US 101 is a Texaco station, about where today's (2012) Jack In The Box stands. At the right edge of the photo is the old Anchor Inn Cafe. |
