Description |
Early1930s aerial view of Adamson House compound and Malibu Lagoon. Note graded hilltop across Roosevelt Highway, which is a cultivated field. The road curving around the base of this hill is the old County dirt road, which moves up the canyon a ways before crossing over Malibu Creek upstream of the Roosevelt Highway bridge. The old Rindge railway bridge crosses the Creek immediately above the Roosevelt bridge. The railway was essentially defunct at this stage. Note also the open road leading west (left of photo) from the Adamson estate, down under the bridge over Malibu Creek, and north up into Rancho Malibu land (not officially part of the Adamson compound) where it joins the County road. |
