(Rhoda)-May Knight, 1886, one year before her marriage to Frederick Hastings Rindge. Frederick proposed to May within a week of meeting her, and she accepted. She would later drop the use of the "Rhoda" prefix, although that name would continue on through her descendants. When she and Frederick purchased Rancho Malibu in 1892, she was separately deeded the eastern portion of the ranch, from Marie Canyon (just west of Malibu Canyon) to Las Flores Canyon, as her own personal property. |
